Khadijah Lawal Idris (Programmes Director)

Khadijah Idris is a development professional with a background in urban planning, programme coordination, and policy implementation. Her career has consistently focused on improving systems that shape how communities access land, housing, infrastructure, and essential services. As Programme Director at TBSDF, she leverages this foundation to design and lead integrated development programmes that address local needs while advancing national and global priorities.


She holds an MSc in Global Urban Development and Planning from the University of Manchester, United Kingdom and began her career in the Abuja Metropolitan Management Council (AMMC), where she contributed to the strengthening of planning, compliance, and development control mechanisms. She later supported the Federal Ministry of Lands, Housing and Urban Development, where she contributed to the review of urban master plans and land management systems.


At TBSDF, Khadijah draws on this technical and institutional experience to ensure that the Foundation’s programmes are practical, inclusive, and responsive to real-world constraints. Her leadership focuses on delivering community-based interventions that align with Nigeria’s National Development Plan and the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly in the areas of sustainable livelihoods and communities.
