Hauwa Aliyu is a Federal Commissioner at the Revenue Mobilisation, Allocation and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC) representing Jigawa State.

She is the founder of Iya Hauwa Foundation; founded to support and empower rural and nomadic/pastoralists communities in Northern Nigeria through education, health and life skills development opportunities. Hauwa serves a Trustee in a number of NGOs working in community development.

Currently, a doctoral candidate in International Education and Development at the University of Sussex, she also has a Master’s degree in Sustainable Development from the University of Sussex, UK.
